The Attack of the Aiptasia

Our fish tank has really taken off, we are seeing new things growing in it everyday. We had this really cool looking coral (I thought) growing near a rock that swayed with the current and was kind of see through. I mentioned how cool it was to Steve one day and he informed me it was Aiptasia. Me being pretty naive when it comes to the fish tank said, "Wow, cool!" Then I was informed it was a pest and would sting corals and other animals in the tank...not so cool anymore. Aiptasia is highly known for its difficulty to remove from your tank. You can buy other animals that eat the aiptasia, but what happens when it's all gone, what do you feed them then? Also when the aiptasia, which is an anemone not a coral, feels threatened it will eject larvae which will just spread the aiptasia to the rest of the tank.

We kept noticing more and more of them around the tank. So Steve did some research and found this Aiptasia-X chemical that tastes like food to the aiptasia but it is really more like a glue and will seal it's mouth shut. And if you did it right, it will supposedly implode within 60 seconds.
So here is Steve doing the dirty work.

I have a neat video to go here, but it won't upload...so check back later.

See the white goo under the mushroom coral? Another aiptasia WAS living there. Wahhahahaha! (evil laugh)

Mwa-ha-ha-ha! I like Steve's evil face! So, did it work? Did it get rid of all the aiptasia?

When we first started our fish tank we also had tons of aiptasia. We had no clue they were bad until a month or so later we were talking to a guy at the fish store and he told us they were bad. If I remember correctly he said peppermint shrimp eat them. For us that worked pretty well. How did the Aiptasia-X work?
